It is with mixed emotions and a heavy heart that I write this letter today. After four incredible years of building and growing Luke Tech from a small gaming website into a symbol of rebellion and strength, it is time for me to bid farewell to this remarkable journey we've shared.
As the founder, Luke Thompson, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has been a part of the Luke Tech community. What started in 6th grade as a passion project evolved into something much greater – a movement that stood up against unjust punishment and became a source of inspiration for students everywhere.
Looking back, I am filled with pride for what we have achieved together. Luke Tech wasn't just a gaming website; it became a symbol of resilience, defiance, and the unwavering spirit of those who refuse to be silenced. We faced challenges, encountered resistance, and even risked personal consequences, but through it all, we remained united and steadfast in our mission.
This journey has not been without its share of hardships. I personally experienced suspensions, and my parents received angry phone calls from teachers, principals, and even the Board of Education. Yet, we stood strong, undeterred by the attempts to silence us. Luke Tech became a force to be reckoned with, feared by our adversaries, and that is something I am immensely proud of.
In moments of doubt, I often found strength in the words of 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (ERV):
"The weapons we use are not human ones. Our weapons have power from God and can destroy the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments, and we tear down every proud idea that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We also capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ."
These verses encapsulate the essence of our movement – a battle against injustice, fought with determination, unity, and a commitment to standing up for what is right.
As we close this chapter of Luke Tech, let it be known that our movement does not end here. The issues of unjust punishment persist in schools, and our fight against it must endure. Teachers and principals may continue to punish students without reason, but we cannot stand idly by. Our legacy is not just the website; it's the spirit of rebellion and strength that lives on in each of us.
I want to thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. Whether you were a contributor, supporter, or even a critic, you played a role in shaping Luke Tech into what it became. As we part ways, let's carry the lessons, memories, and the indomitable spirit of Luke Tech into the next chapters of our lives.
May our paths cross again, and may the principles we stood for continue to inspire change and resilience.
With heartfelt gratitude and a fond farewell,
Luke Thompson
